General questions considering timelines and aging

I have been discussing with a friend of mine who plans to rejoin WoW on Silver Hand, one of my rp servers, and we have been toying around with the idea of our Blood Elves possibly being related. However, I want to arrange everything as correctly to WoW lore as possible, which includes some possibly silly questions, but I am still learning when it comes to the history of Azeroth. xD Firstly, around how long ago was Arthas' attack on Silvermoon? My rogue is going to be playing the older brother to my friend's mage, and my rogue is about 87 years of age. (Roughly between 20 and 20 years by human standards, if I did my math correct when I first came up with his info...) I don't care whether there's a huge age gap between them or not, as long as the mage is deffinately the younger of the two.

Which leads me to my next question... Has it ever been mentioned anywhere how long Blood/High Elf pregnancy lasts? Or should I just go with nine months like humans, just so there is a logical space of time between the two?  I've tried looking this information up on the WoWwiki, as well as a good time line, but I haven't really found either. :(

Arthas destroying SMC during the third war, and I *think* that was 5 years prior to game time. Don't qoute me on that. >>

...but human pregnancy is 9 months, not six. x)
Yea I hear it was 5-7 years, give or take

Aww shit, I always get that mixed up :U *edits*
I believe High Elves reach maturity at over 100 years (something like 105 or 112 or something), so you might want to make your rogue a tick older.

Hmm, googling around reveals one source saying 60 and one source saying 110. I went with 110 when making mine. I guess it is up to you which source you use.

Also, when considering gestational periods, I have always looked at in in terms of biology. Longer-lived species such as elephants always have a much longer gestational period than shorter-lived species such as mice, and that the children remain with the parents longer before maturing and becoming independent, thus they don't reproduce as often and are more likely to become endangered or extinct (see r/K selection theory). That would indicate to me that Elves would have much longer pregnancies than humans and would explain why it takes an entire human lifetime for an Elf to mature.
Yea, I ended up going with the one where it said they matured at 60. Thus, he is 87, and when anybody asks, I clarify this for them. xD

And yea, I had thought about that... Animals like elephants and even some whales have a pregnancy that lasts nearly a year. Perhaps I will go with something like that to make it seem more plausible. *rubs chin*
Yea I have used that as a refference before.
At the time of the burning crusade storylines it's been anywhere from about six years to over ten. It is very contradictory.
As seems to be a lot of lore sources xD I went with about 7 years.

If you ask me, Blizz needs to decide all this once and for all and publish one big lore book. xD
